Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton planning Inside No. 9 live special

Reece Shesrmith and Steve Pemberton are to launch a live special of ‘Inside No.9’ this Halloween.
The long-running collaborators have been asked to put together a spooky edition of their incredibly dark anthology comedy series and the BBC’s controller Shane Allen has admitted, although it was the broadcaster’s idea for the one-off, bosses are "s****ing themselves" over the content.
He told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: "A lot of people will be s****ing themselves, mostly in Compliance, about that one.
"It will be a proper live show, in the way ‘Mrs Brown’s Boys’ Live was properly live too."
The show – which first aired in 2004 – has a different setting and tone for each half hour episode, all with a dark, bleak or scary twist.
The most recent series aired in January, which followed the much anticipated return of ‘League of Gentlemen’ late last year, which saw the pair reunite on the sketch show with Mark Gatiss and Jeremy Dyson.
Speaking at the time, Reece admitted the classic comedy – which began on the radio in 1997 – has a "question mark" all over it, and suggested it would never get the green light these days with the spectre of political correctness hanging over the entertainment business.
He said at the time: "There’s a question mark over all of it, if you get into the grey areas of everyone’s particular taste. It’s hard now to have a singular voice … to write a drama without having it go through a process which tries to cater to everyone and ultimately caters for no one."
