Shirley Ballas wants to see Piers Morgan on Strictly

Shirley Ballas wants her BBC bosses to sign Piers Morgan up for this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The 57-year-old judge – who replaced Len Goodman in 2017 – would love to see the ‘Good Morning Britain’ co-host join as a contestant so that she can give him a taste of his own medicine and make him squirm.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, she said: "I would love to see Piers Morgan do a turn on this year’s show.
"I’ve told bosses that he would be a great signing. I mean who doesn’t love a good roasting of a weekend."
Shirley’s comments come after the controversial presenter previously promised to do the show if Dan Walker – from ‘GMB’ rival ‘BBC Breakfast’ – also signed up.
He said: "I would seriously consider it if it meant giving Walker a lesson in how to dance in front of nine million people."
A BBC insider added: "Piers and Dan make Twitter digs at each other.
"It caught the attention of Strictly bosses, who want to tap into this rivalry. They think it’d be a ratings hit."
Shirley – who is known as ‘The Queen of Latin’ after winning several championship tittles – isn’t the only one keen to see the 53-year-old outspoken journalist in sequins.
Lord Alan Sugar pledged to pay £50,000 to London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital if Piers took part in the popular dancing competition.
In a previous post on Twitter, he said: "I would pay £25K to charity to see this plonker in tight pants dancing and another £25K if he makes it past the first 5 weeks. @piersmorgan he is as agile as a pregnant donkey. (sic)"
The post promoted a sparring match between the two with Piers responding: "Not the first time you’ve paid to see a man in tight pants dance for you, is it, Shuggsy… (sic)"
