Dan Osborne and Jacqueline Jossa had been arguing for a "long time" before he moved out of their marital home.
The former ‘Only Way is Essex’ star admitted he and his estranged wife – who have daughter Ella, three, together and are weeks away from welcoming their second child into the world – have been going through a "tough time" and he preferred to go out partying with his friends rather than face more rows with the 25-year-old actress.
He said: I’m still staying with a mate. I left because we were arguing and it is such a waste of energy..
"We argue at home so I go out because I don’t want to be home arguing when I can be enjoying myself with mates."
However, Dan – who also has four-year-old son Teddy from a previous relationship – admitted he will be moving back in with Jacqueline to help with their new baby, but that doesn’t mean they’ll be getting back together.
He told the Daily Star on Sunday newspaper: "I will move back to help before the birth and with the baby, but I don’t know after that.
"The main priority is the kids."
And the 26-year-old star insisted he and the actress need to do what makes them happy because "life is too short" for them to stay together in a miserable marriage.
He said: "The way I look at life is every day spent unhappy is a wasted day, and we were both having a lot of unhappy days.
"I still obviously care for Jacqueline but if we can’t make each other happy then we shouldn’t stay together. Life is too short."
Jacqueline recently insisted she was doing "good" despite her marital problems.
She said: "I’m good, honestly. I think, when stuff goes on at home, it’s not normal for it to be everywhere. But it’s not necessarily true or the reasons why you’re not getting on at the moment. That’s all I really want to say but I’m all good."
