David Walliams’ Simon Cowell-inspired book character

David Walliams is planning to base a judgemental character on Simon Cowell in a new novel.
The ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge has been inspired by his fellow panellist’s no-nonsense views that he has developed an idea for a youthful character who "likes to judge others", and Simon is already eyeing a royalty cheque.
David said: "It would be about a young boy called Simon, who likes to judge others."
Speaking about the idea on an upcoming episode of ‘Britain’s Got More Talent’, Simon joked: "I want a third of the royalties."
Simon, 58, and David, 46, are known for their ‘BGT’ bromance, with the comedian regularly poking fun at his boss, and the music mogul recently admitted the TV star is "unsackable" from the panel.
Speaking about David’s banter on the show, he said: "I always say to him calm it down. But this year it’s 20 times worse. You can’t stop him.
"I think he’s always been unsackable. I do remember the first time I sat down with him, we had one of the worst meetings I’ve ever had.
"He came into the dressing room when I was doing ‘X Factor’ and I pitched him the show and we had one of the worst meetings I’ve ever had. When I say it was bad, it was bad, and I thought, ‘This is never going to happen’.
"And then a year later we had another conversation and he agreed to it. I mean, to be fair, he and the show are a perfect match."
David recently joked Simon doesn’t understand comedy contestants’ quips when they appear on ‘BGT’, because he "doesn’t live in the real world".
He said: "Whenever we have a comedian on the show, I don’t sit next to Simon but I can see Amanda explaining the jokes to him because he doesn’t live in the real world."
