Jon Snow has been left fuming after he was moved into a "dingy basement" because the roof of his usual office collapsed.
The 70-year-old journalist – who is best known as the long-time host of ‘Channel 4 News’ – has been forced to move following the collapse, which was caused by renovation work.
A TV insider said: "Jon wasn’t best pleased after he had to move.
"He and his colleagues are used to being in their usual spot, but when the roof came in, bosses had to relocate them."
Jon’s temporary office isn’t as cosy as he’s used to, but the veteran broadcaster and his colleagues are having to "make do" for the time being.
The source told The Sun newspaper: "Everyone at ITN, where Channel 4 News is made, says the basement is dingy, but Jon and co will have to make do until their usual office is fixed.
"It was lucky the roof fell in over a weekend. Had the office been full of people, as it is on weekdays, things could have been very bad."
Meanwhile, a spokeswoman for ITN has confirmed that no one was injured when the building collapsed.
She explained: "Fortunately no-one was harmed and the programme aired as scheduled. All building work ceased immediately while the incident was investigated.
"The newsroom has been temporarily relocated within the building."
The incident is reported to have happened almost a month ago, but Jon is still stuck in the "dingy" room.
