Ant and Dec book studio for SM:TV Live revivial

Ant and Dec have booked a studio for the ‘SM:TV Live’ revival.
Fans have been patiently waiting for the much-loved children’s television show to return to screens after the comedy duo and their co-host Cat Deeley confirmed that there were plans for it to make a comeback in 2018 to mark its 20th anniversary.
And it looks like the trio are one step closer to filming the revival as a space has been chosen and pre-booked by the production team and there are some writers involved.
Speaking to Radio Times magazine, Ant said: "We can tell you it’s happening, it definitely happening, I’m on board, Dec’s on board, Cat’s on board. A lot of the old team are getting back together. I think we’ve just booked a studio, I think we’ve got some writers involved. So we’re kind of at that stage really."
But not everything has come together as they still need to book some guests to appear on the show – although they’re still hoping the programme will hit screens in September.
Ant explained: "We’ll start trying to book guests and have some fun with it now."
Dec added: "We’re starting to put the little nuts and bolts together. It’s very exciting, it looks like it’ll be probably about September time."
Meanwhile, although nothing is set in stone, Steps teased last year that they had been invited to appear on the music show – which aired from 1998 until 2003 – for the revival.
Ian ‘H’ Watkins – who co-presented ‘SM:TV’ – said: "We have to do ‘SM:TV’, they asked us. We were probably on that show more than any other band so it makes sense."
‘SM:TV Live’ aired on ITV from 9.25am on a Saturday morning for three hours.
The award-winning show featured skits including ‘The Beautiful Corrs’, a parody of US sitcom’ Friends’, ‘Pokemon’ fights plus ‘Wonkey Donkey’ game.
