Eminem and his half-brother Nathan now share the same surname.
The ‘Walk On Water’ rapper – whose real name is Marshal Mathers – previously had legal custody of 31-year-old Nathan Kane Samra when he was a minor and the two are thought to be very close.
Nathan recently filed documents in a Michigan court to change his name to Nathan Kane Mathers.
According to The Blast, a judge has granted the request and the name change has been made legal.
Nathan is the younger son of Eminem’s mother Debbie Mathers, but he and the music star have different fathers.
Nathan was put in foster care by Debbie as a child and Eminem later became his legal guardian.
Not much is known publicly about the brother’s relationship, but Nathan does aspire to be a rapper, just like his 45-year-old older brother.
He travelled with Eminem on his ‘Up In Smoke’ tour in 2000, and was also featured in the ‘Without Me’ music video back in 2009.
Eminem has a famously difficult relationship with his mother Debbie and has repeatedly criticised her in his music.
But in his 2013 track ‘Headlights’, he apologised to her for his stinging criticism.
He sang: "But I’m sorry mama for ‘Cleanin’ Out My Closet,’ at the time I was angry. That song I no longer play at shows and I cringe every time it’s on the radio."
The track also includes the lines: "But ma, I forgive you, so does Nathan yo.
"All you did, all you said, you did your best to raise us both. Foster care, that cross you bare, few may be as heavy as yours. But I love you Debbie Mathers, oh what a tangled web we have."
