Ant and Dec up for 17th consecutive National Television Awards gong

Ant and Dec will bid for their 17th consecutive TV Presenter prize at the National Television Awards (NTAs) this year after being nominated for the accolade.
The presenting pair – who managed a record-breaking 16th win in the category last year – will face stiff competition from Holly Willoughby, Phillip Schofield and Bradley Walsh at the ceremony later this month, and could get their hands on four gongs in total on the night.
The duo’s show ‘Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway’ is up for the newly-named Sir Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award – a nod to the late TV legend, who passed away in August 2017 aged 89 – alongside ‘The Graham Norton Show’, ‘Celebrity Juice’ and ‘All Round to Mrs. Brown’s’.
Ant and Dec could also taste success in two other categories for shows they present as ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ is up against ‘The Great British Bake Off’, ‘MasterChef’ and ‘Love Island’ for best Challenge Show, and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ has a nod in the Talent Show category.
The programme will do battle with rivals ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, ‘The Voice’ and ‘The X Factor’.
‘BGT’ panellists Simon Cowell and David Walliams will face off against The Voice’s will.i.am and Bake Off’s Paul Hollywood in a bid to be named top TV Judge.
Suranne Jones’ ‘Doctor Foster’ will compete against ‘Liar’, ‘Call The Midwife’, ‘Casualty’ and ‘Game Of Thrones’ for the Drama accolade, and she could taste personal success in the Drama Performance category.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ star is up against Tom Hardy (‘Taboo’), David Tennant (‘Broadchurch’), Sheridan Smith (‘Moorside’) and Jenna Coleman (‘Victoria’).
The National Television Awards 2018 will take place at London’s The O2 on January 23, hosted by Dermot O’Leary.
