Rose Marie dies aged 94

Rose Marie Guy has passed away aged 94.
The star of ‘The Dick Van Dyke Show’ and ‘The Doris Day Show’ died on Thursday (28.12.17) in Van Nuys, California, according to a statement posted on her official website.
The New York-born actress found fame as a child, winning an amateur talent contest at the age of three, and subsequently established herself as one of America’s most popular stage, movie and TV performers.
She became a household name during the 1960s, when she spent five seasons playing the part of Van Dyke’s office-mate, Sally Rogers, on the popular sitcom.
Thereafter, Rose Marie joined ‘The Doris Day Show’, while she also appeared in every incarnation of the ‘Hollywood Squares’ game show, which first aired in 1966.
Of her career achievements, the statement on her website added: "She extensively toured the night-club circuit with Rosemary Clooney, Helen O’Connell & Margaret Whiting in ‘4 Girls 4’. She received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on October 3, 2001.
"When asked about retiring she said, ‘I’ve been in show business my whole life. Why start something new now?’ She later released her best selling memoirs ‘Hold The Roses’ in 2006."
In more recent years, Rose Marie joined social media and soon developed a following on Twitter, as she shared some of her most memorable anecdotes from her time in the entertainment business.
Rose Marie’s husband, musician Bobby Guy, served as the lead trumpeter for the NBC orchestra on ‘The Tonight Show’ before his death in 1964.
The popular actress is survived by her daughter, Georgiana Marie, as well as her son-in-law Steven Rodrigues.
