Alesha Dixon only ever turns her phone off on Christmas Day.
The 39-year-old singer loves the festive period because it is the only time of year she can switch off her mobile, ignore any emails and truly relax.
Speaking to Closer magazine, the ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge said: "The best thing about Christmas, though, is that it’s the only time of the year where I can turn off my phone. I don’t have to check any emails. I don’t have to keep alert. Everyone who I talk to – my family – comes over, so it’s just phone-free and relaxing."
Not only does the ‘The Boy Does Nothing’ hitmaker – who has four-year-old daughter Azura with her partner Azuka Ononye – enjoy stepping away from her phone, but she was also free from slaving away in the kitchen, as her brother cooks for the family, which means she gets to totally relax.
She said: "I spent Christmas Day eating too much, moving too little and playing silly games with the family. My brother always comes over and cooks, which is great, so I always get to relax. My daughter loves it.
"We enjoy the moment with the people we love and we do the same thing every year".
And Alesha has revealed her all-time favourite present was a gift she received from her grandmother, which her relative knitted for the former Mis-Teeq band member.
She explained: "My favourite present still to this day was a jumper my nan knitted me.. I love it because it was personally tailored and she knitted it herself No one else has it and it’s the only one. It’s got love woven into it."
