Holly Willougbby and Phillip Schofield chose Kem Cetinay for Dancing on Ice

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield played a part in Kem Cetinay being chosen for ‘Dancing on Ice’.
The ‘This Morning’ presenters have revealed over 80 celebrities initially auditioned for the series – before it was whittled down to just 12 – and the ‘Love Island’ hunk has them to thank for him securing a spot on the line up because they put in a good word with bosses when they were discussing the reboot in the summer.
Speaking to The Sun Online, Phillip said: "Holly and I did, not ‘I don’t want them, I don’t want them’ but when we had our initial meeting we said ‘how about, and we love, and wouldn’t it be funny if…’ and then they came back and said ‘well they can’t do it, they can do it, what do you think of this…’ "
Asked if they had played a part in getting Kem on the show, Phillip replied: "[We] might have been, the fact that Holly and I spent most of our summer devoted to ‘Love Island’ may have had some sort of baring on it."
Phillip and Holly will reprise their hosting roles on the skating show next year and they can’t wait to work with one another again after the blonde beauty left in 2011 and was replaced by Christine Bleakley.
The 55-year-old silver fox said: "Holly and I were together for the first show ever, she had just come off Saturday morning TV. "When you’re given a brand new prime time live entertainment show there is a responsibility that comes with it and there are nerves that come with it too.
"Holly and I know each other so much better than we did back then so there’s none of that, wondering how does he work or what’s the best thing for her. We’ve never fallen out, we’ve never had a tiff…we just don’t argue ever. It doesn’t happen. It’s like presenting with my younger sister or best friend, and that’s fab."
‘Dancing on Ice’, which was taken off air three years ago, will return to screens on January 7 on ITV.
