Lionel Richie cancels Vegas show to help family

Lionel Richie cancelled his Las Vegas show to help his family affected by the California Wildfires.
The ‘Dancing On The Ceiling’ hitmaker is currently in the midst of his ‘All the Hits’ residency at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas but didn’t perform on Wednesday night (06.12.17) so he could be with his family.
He wrote: "Due to the devastating California Wildfires, and helping family evacuate to a safer place, I unfortunately have to cancel my show tonight. I look forward to returning to the stage this weekend and performing for my fans."
Lionel is "very supportive", particularly of his daughter Sofia Richie and her new relationship with Scott Disick.
Speaking about her dad’s reaction to her romance with the ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star, Sofia said: "He’s good. He’s been very nice. He’s been very cool. He’s very supportive, whatever that means."
However, he had previously admitted he was "scared to death" about the pair’s new romance.
He said: "Have I been in shock?! I’m the dad, come on. I’m scared to death, are you kidding me?"
Whilst a source added: "He thinks Scott is the worst person she could ever see and that he raised her better than that. He thinks she should have more respect for herself as a young woman. Lionel knows Scott’s playboy ways and he doesn’t want to see his daughter get hurt."
And Lionel – who has three kids – would love to expand his brood and have more children eventually.
He said: "I’m willing to become a father again. I might have just let a secret slip there, but so be it – Lisa and I are cool with the idea of children. Marriage, on the other hand, is a very different issue, it’s a bad idea for men. I’ve been there twice and it was very expensive for me. I’ve no idea to go there a third time – women have killed it for me. Kids aren’t the problem – ex-wives are. That’s why I won’t marry again, but I’m happy to commit in other ways."
