Rupert Grint can’t enjoy Harry Potter

Rupert Grint has admitted he doesn’t enjoy watching the ‘Harry Potter’ movie franchise.
The actor – who made his name playing boy wizard Ron Weasley in the big screen adaptations of J.K. Rowling’s hugely popular book series – explained that he can’t embrace any of his films or TV roles because of the work he put into the projects.
Speaking to the Radio Times, he said: "I think being in things ruins them for me… I can’t enjoy Harry Potter any more, not as a fan – it’s just not the same!"
However, Grint remains grateful for his career – and the spotlight the Potter saga has put him under – and he has no issues with taking pictures with excited fans of the films.
He added: "It’s definitely manageable. I end up having to take a selfie [for a fan] most days, but I’ve never really minded if it makes people happy – though I hate it when people take pictures without asking.
"It was really exciting when I was about 11 or 12, but it got harder in my teenage years. Sometimes you just want to be invisible."
The 29-year-old actor formed a close bond with the likes of co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson when they made the movies, and though they try to stay in touch, the attention they receive when they all get together can make it tricky.
He told heat magazine: "Yes [I keep in touch] but it’s difficult. It’s quite hard to go down the pub with them all."
Rupert has even sat in the audience at West End production ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ and admitted it was a weird experience to see someone else take on his beloved character.
He said: "I did go to the play and it was like an out-of-body experience for me. To see my character taken on my someone else was very strange, but I loved it."
