Blake Shelton is going to "milk" his Sexiest Man Alive title, because he’s been "fat and ugly" for most of his life.
The country music star was given the coveted accolade for 2017 by People magazine earlier this week, and has said he’s going to make the most of his honour for the next year until someone else takes the crown, as it’s the first time he’s felt "sexy".
He said: "I mean, you can’t be the sexiest man alive … unless you’re the sexiest man alive. I said this in the magazine when I did my interview for ‘Sexiest Man Alive,’ that I had been fat and ugly my whole life, and if only for one year, I get to be sexy, I am going to milk this for everything that it’s worth."
Blake, 41, also joked that he "feels bad" for his girlfriend and fellow musician Gwen Stefani, as although she’s dating a certified hunk, she now has to share him with the rest of the world.
He teased: "You know, I feel bad for her because she has been in the spotlight, and this symbol of beauty, and now this. You know what, it’s going to be humbling for her but I think she’s got a big enough heart. She can do it."
And ‘The Voice’ judge is keen to use his "new power" to bring back the classic mullet hairstyle which he rocked in his younger years, as he thinks it’s time the style was revived.
During an appearance on ‘The Ellen Degeneres Show’ which aired on Thursday (16.11.17), Blake was shown a throwback picture of himself with the hairdo, and he joked: "Let’s bring it back! With this new power that has been bestowed upon me, I can bring the mullet back, which makes it OK for any of you to have one."
