Ray Fisher says Cyborg is a ‘super deep’ superhero

Ray Fisher’s interpretation of Cyborg is "super deep".
The 30-year-old actor made a cameo as Victor Stone aka Cyborg in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ and will make his big screen debut as the character in ‘Justice League’.
Fisher has revealed it was a "three year process" to develop his character and he insists he brings a lot of Victor’s emotional struggle about the injuries that led to him becoming Cyborg.
Speaking at the London press conference for ‘Justice League’, Fisher said: "It was a three year process from start to finish with this film which was absolutely necessary because the character is super deep and I think him being able to put the negative notions aside about himself and his powers is sort of what all this is about.
"To be able to become a part of the team, the way he once was when he was an American football player. So, I hope it resonates with fans."
Cyborg was created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez and first appeared in DC Comics Presents #26 in 1980.
Most of Victor’s body was destroyed due to an incident which occurred at the laboratory where his scientist parents worked, but his father saves him through the use of experimental technology and prosthetics with his body parts being replaced with a large arsenal of high-tech gadgets and weaponry.
Fisher also said he believes his character is "super reluctant" to join the ‘Justice League’ due to his accident.
He said: "I think in a lot of ways, Cyborg is super reluctant to join the team because of the trauma that he had due to the accident he had and the fact that he cannot live a normal life the way that these other members can. He can’t take off his costume and just walk the streets in a super identity. He is both Victor Stone and Cyborg 24/7. So bouncing that duality within oneself was a very interesting process."
Fisher will join Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Henry Cavill as Superman.
‘Justice League’ will see Bruce Wayne aka Batman enlisting the help of the meta humans to stand against a newly awakened enemy. The film hits cinemas this month.
