Emmerdale’s Michael Parr is terrified his alter-ego Ross Barton killed his mother because it means he’ll have to go to prison and will no longer have a job on the soap.
The 31-year-old actor – who has played the hunky mechanic in the long-running show since 2013 – doesn’t know what he’ll do if bosses decide his character murdered his mum Emma Barton (played by Gillian Kearney) because he’ll be left without a job.
However, while appearing on ‘Loose Women’ on Wednesday (01.11.17) alongside Anthony Quilan – who plays his brother Pete Barton – Michael revealed there have been seven different endings filmed and none of them know who is the real culprit.
He said: "What we have been through losing our mum and brother it’s just emotions are high everyone is starting to point fingers at each.
"It’s been complicated for us when we have been reading it like there’s been times where I’ve been like oh my god I think I did it, I’m going to lose my job.
"[The seven different endings] was done because these things can have a habit of getting out and it just completely spoils it so why take the risk, so we filmed lots of different endings. It’s all in the power of the edit."
Although worried about potentially losing his job, Michael also revealed he loves getting a storyline where he can "sink" his teeth in and said it is "kind of emotional".
He said: "It’s just great as an actor to get material that you can really sink your teeth in and really focus and study the text and what not.
"And it’s kind of emotional so it pushes you as an actor so it’s perfect."
Over the next few weeks, ‘Emmerdale’ will feature flashback episodes in order to allow fans to start piecing together who killed the vindictive nurse.
