Madonna’s move to Portugal is an ‘experiment’

Madonna says her move to Portugal is "an experiment".
The 59-year-old singer recently revealed she moved to the Portuguese capital of Lisbon after her son David, 11, joined football team Benfica FC’s youth academy, and has now said the move came as she felt it was important for her to "experience another culture."
She said: "It’s an experiment. I wanted to just go and experience another culture, music and art scene, and this one is phenomenal."
The ‘Vogue’ hitmaker – who also has Lourdes, 20, Rocco, 16, Mercy, 11, and four-year-old twins Stella and Esther – also says her youngest children are starting to learn about her worldwide fame now that they go to school in Lisbon, as people are "always" asking if their mother is Madonna.
She added to ‘Entertainment Tonight’: "They go to school in Lisbon right now, and they’re wondering why everyone’s always coming up to them and saying, ‘Is your mother, Madonna?’ Like, why do they want to know who you are?
"I mean, a lot of my kids have grown up seeing me in concert, but there are certain songs, like, the twins don’t know anything. They heard ‘Holiday’ for the first time a month ago, so that was a fun moment for them."
The ‘Hung Up’ singer announced her move to Lisbon earlier this month when she took to Instagram to share a snap of her new home.
Alongside an image of a room filled with baskets hanging from the ceiling, she wrote: "I used to be a basket case but now I Live in Lisbon! (sic)."
And Madonna revealed she feels more "inspired" living in the European city as it has made her feel "very creative and alive".
Alongside a photograph of a piece of art, which was also posted on the musician’s photo-sharing account, she wrote: "The energy of Portugal is so inspiring. I feel very creative and alive here. And I look forward to working on my film LOVED and making New Music!!! This will be the next Chapter in My Book! It’s time to conquer the world from a different vantage point!! (sic)."
