Jorgie Porter: American men don’t get my humour

Jorgie Porter has been on some dates with American men during her time in the US – but none of them have worked out because they "don’t get her sense of humour."
The 29-year-old actress has been across the pond on and off for the last year while taking part in acting workshops and dance classes and, although she wasn’t actively looking to find a partner, she found herself going on a number of dates, but she has found the majority of them awkward as none of them seem to understand her jokes.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, she said: "I was over there for acting classes. I went back to doing what I love doing – learning, dance classes, working out a lot, acting classes, acting with a lot of Americans which was kind of bizarre, dating American men. I did that for revision reasons. Dating American men is different – they don’t get my humour. Maybe nobody does. They got my accent – they liked that."
But it’s not just her sense of humour that’s preventing her from finding love with a hunky American, as her globe-trotting career, in which she travels back and forth to England quite a few times, is also proving an issue for some potential suitors.
She said: "Because I’m across two countries is one of the reasons why I didn’t carry on dating one of the guy. He was in England for ever and that’s what he wanted to do so it’s hard to find a guy that just wants to do what I want to do."
And it’s going to prove even harder as the former ‘Hollyoaks’ star isn’t planning to "settle anywhere yet" as she thoroughly enjoys travelling and meeting new people.
She said recently: "I would never say never to moving to the US, but to be honest I would never give up any other country, I love travelling. I love Canada and I love all these different places I’ve never visited. I don’t know if I would settle anywhere yet."
