Pete Wicks hopes girlfriend Megan McKenna writes happy song about him

Pete Wicks hopes his girlfriend Megan McKenna’s next song is a "happy one" about him.
The ‘Only Way is Essex’ star shot into Number 1 and Number 2 in the UK’s iTunes Chart earlier this week with her new singles ‘High Heeled Shoes’ and ‘Far Cry From Love’ – with the latter being penned about her on/off romance with the hunk – and, although he was a little taken back by the track written about him, he’s sure she’ll write a positive one soon.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz at the Animal Hero Awards in London on Thursday (07.09.17), he said: "She’s an artist effectively.
"She’s got to draw from things that have happened in her life and hopefully the next song she writes about me is going to be a happy one."
And the 28-year-old heartthrob – who has been dating the brunette beauty on and off since the beginning of last year – couldn’t quite believe how quickly her songs took off.
He explained: "I’m so proud of her. Obviously to get 1 and 2 in the download chart, I don’t think she really expected that herself. It sort of all happened within 12 hours so it just goes to show how good those songs are."
Although the couple have been on and off, Pete knew Megan was the perfect one for him because his pet pooch Eric – a French Bulldog – absolutely adores her.
He explained: "Megan’s got her own dog Daisy as well and I love Daisy and Daisy is like my step-daughter. Daisy and Eric get on really well."
Pete was hoping to take his four-legged friend to the Animal Hero Awards last night but decided against him because he doesn’t travel well in the car.
He said: "Genuinely, I would’ve loved to have brought him but he’s got a really bad fear of the car so the car from Essex is about an hour and a half so I think he would’ve been all over the shop. But I am gutted. But I just didn’t want to put him through it."
