Pearl Mackie teases Doctor Who ‘endings’

Pearl Mackie has teased there are a "lot of endings" in the ‘Doctor Who’ finale.
The actress’ alter ego Bill Potts was converted into a Cyberman in scenes aired on Saturday (24.06.17), much to the shock of fans after the Time Lord’s companion had seemed to die, and the 30-year-old star admitted it was very "emotional" shooting the plot because so much is about to happen.
Asked if it was "emotional filming the death of [her] character", she said: "I mean, I’m quite an emotional person, so it was pretty emotional, I mean even just reading any of it and at the read through it was quite emotional because there’s a lot of endings.
"I think that’s credit to Steven [Moffat]’s writing that you can get that kind of emotion from it when you read it that you’re supposed to get when you watch it."
While it is possible Pearl was alluding to the upcoming departure of Peter Capaldi, it is unclear as to whether or not she’s also talking about an ending for her own character.
However, a source told RadioTimes.com: "Pearl was answering about the scene where Bill appeared to die before being taken away for ‘treatment’ at the hospital, where viewers later discovered that she was eventually converted into a Mondasian Cyberman. This is not confirmation either way."
And showrunner Steven joked Bill will be seen as a Cyberman in all future episodes.
He quipped during a Facebook Live Q and A: "She’s a Cyberman from now on. She’s one of those ones in the trailer actually. She was just killing people. That’s the way it is sometimes."
But Steven – who is stepping down at the end of the series – admitted anything could happen in the final episode as it isn’t even complete yet.
He said: "We haven’t actually, finished episode 12 yet! We haven’t’ seen the finished version so I have got things to worry about before we worry about when we put it out. It could be Sunday it could be the following Thursday."
