Ferne McCann’s ex-boyfriend has pleaded not guilty to his involvement in an acid attack carried out at a London nightclub in April.
Arthur Collins, 25, was accused of causing 22 clubbers to suffer from extensive burns and two people left partially blind after they were doused with a corrosive substance at the East London hotspot Mangle on April 17.
He was subsequently charged with 14 counts of wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm and one count of throwing corrosive fluid on a person with intent to do grievous bodily harm, but the scaffolder appeared via video link at Wood Green Crown Court from Thameside prison on Monday (19.06.17) to deny the allegations.
After the court room observed a one minute silence at 11am for the victims of the Grenfell Tower inferno, a trial date was set for October 9.
Acting Judge Noel Lucas also called for there to be a case management conference – a hearing in which both sides, the lawyers and the judge meet to talk about how to handle the case – on September 22.
Ferne was not at the club with Arthur when the attack took place and she has since split up with him and removed him from her social media accounts.
A few days after his arrest, it was revealed that the 26-year-old beauty was pregnant with Arthur’s baby but she’s adamant she’ll now raise the child as a single mother.
She said recently: "I thoroughly intend to bring up my baby as a single mum like many other women have done. And I will do my best for this baby …
"I’ll need my mum’s help and support. I think all the getting up in the night is just part and parcel of having a baby. I’ll be prepared for sleep deprivation. I will have her move in with me for a week at least. She doesn’t know that yet!"
