Robbie Williams was welcomed on stage by his sometime Take That bandmates and the British pop icon led the 60,000 fans in a singalong of his song ‘Strong’, for which he had changed the lyrics to "Manchester we’re strong/we’re strong".
Robbie – who was wearing an official Justin Bieber ‘Purpose World Tour’ hoodie – then united everyone again as he belted out his classic hit ‘Angels’, the lyrics of which took on even more poignancy as the fans in attendance had brought along posters and messages to remember the "angels" who lost their lives in the terror attack at Ariana Grande’s concert.
