Megan McKenna has been forced to hire a team of security guards after she was allegedly stalked by a man who claimed to be her boyfriend last year.
The ‘Only Way is Essex’ star – who has been in an on/off relationship with Pete Wicks since the middle of last year – is riddled with nerves when she attends personal appearances for work as she had to enlist the help of the police last January when a "weird" stranger kept following her around shortly after she left ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, she said: "One time I was in club and someone came up to me and said,’Your friend is outside’ and I thought, ‘Who is that?’ and this person had been trying to get in and it was third time that he turned up in two weeks.
"He kept telling everyone that I was his girlfriend and that’s when we got the police involved. The crazy thing was that I had never met the guy in my entire life. It has made me a bit more nervous and stressed when I see men hanging about near me."
And it seems the 24-year-old beauty’s trust when it comes to men has diminished even further as she was left heartbroken last year when she found out her boyfriend Pete had cheated on her with his ex-girlfriend and numerous other girls.
The pair have attempted to patch up their differences but came to blows at the beginning of last month when security was forced to intervene during filming.
A source said at the time: "They immediately started a heated discussion after Megan saw pictures of Pete ‘cosying up to’ Chloe Sims recently.
"Megan called him [Pete] up on the photos and asked what’s going on.
"She said she was amazed Chloe didn’t try to reach out to explain that there’s nothing in it. Pete defended Chloe and said nothing had happened and that she hadn’t done anything wrong, but Megan started screaming, ‘Why are you sticking up for her?’
"Megan accused Pete of cheating on her and sleeping with a girl in Scotland and he threw it back in her face, saying ‘I wasn’t cheating but I did text her’."
