The winner of ‘The Voice’ won’t be releasing a single straight away.
The ITV singing show reaches its climax on Sunday (02.04.17) when one of the four remaining acts – Jamie Miller, Mo, Michelle John and Into The Ark – is crowned the winner of the show but they won’t be following in the footsteps of fellow ITV programme ‘The X Factor’ by releasing a single straight away.
Instead, the winner’s final song – their last attempt to bag themselves a record deal with Polydor Records – will be added to streaming sites and will be available to download following Sunday night’s show.
Two of the contestants will be knocked out on Saturday (01.04.17) night’s show before the remaining two battle it out to be crowned the winner of ‘The Voice’.
And uniquely for a UK talent show, following their triumph, the winner will head straight to the studio to work on their Winner’s EP, which will be unveiled in a few weeks time to coincide with the broadcast of an ITV special called ‘The Winner’s Story.’
And with this series of the show drawing to an end, rumours have been rife on who will be on the judging panel for the next installment.
And will.i.am – who will be appearing on the programme – recently admitted he would be "hurt" if Sir Tom Jones wasn’t on the next series with him.
Asked if he’d be upset, he said: "That would hurt, yeah. I really like Tom … I like how Tom centres everyone. He brings people to behave and we don’t have that nowadays. People just want to run amok.
"There is no chivalry or appreciation for being polite and I like Tom’s generation. I want to be like Tom when I get to his age. He is a gentleman. He really appreciates and loves music."
And will.i.am feels he would have struggled moving from the BBC to ITV without Tom.
He added: "Having Tom back is awesome. It’s true I didn’t want to come back if he wasn’t there. Coming to a new network, I don’t think I could have done it. If the panel is whack then the show is going to suffer."
