Strictly Come Dancing: The Spectacular is cancelled

A ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ live show experience has reportedly been cancelled after low ticket sales.
The BBC have called off Strictly Come Dancing: The Spectacular, which fans of the competition spent £70 on for a ticket, because it was not in as "strong" demand as the broadcasting company had hoped for.
The news of the cancellation was announced on the BBC Worldwide events website, and the statement read: "It is with regret that Strictly Come Dancing: The Spectacular has been cancelled.
"Demand for this event has not been as strong as we had hoped so we’ve taken the difficult decision to cancel it."
And it is rumoured the additional costs for souvenirs, which include taking photos with judges such as Darcey Bussell, Craig Revel Horwood and Bruno Tonioli, as well as contestants from the series that rack up to an additional £30, whilst a photograph with the judging table is £12, had a part to play in the event being axed.
However, the BBC has vowed to give a "full refund" to all customers who purchased tickets, and they have apologised for disappointing excited fans.
The statement continued: "All customers will receive a full refund for the cost of their tickets. See Tickets will begin processing refunds for all online and phone orders immediately.
"Photos with talent, these would have been professionally taken photographs with the visitor receiving a glossy print. Charging for these opportunities is standard practise to manage demand and our prices were lower than what is usually charged for photographs with onscreen talent."
"We are sorry for any disappointment caused as a result of this decision."
Strictly Come Dancing: The Spectacular was scheduled to take place between June 22 and 25 this year at London’s ExCel centre, but despite the cancellation ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ is set to return to our TV screens for series 15 later in the year.
