Chanelle Hayes has lost weight since getting pregnant.
The 29-year-old television personality – who has six-year-old son Blakely with her former partner Matthew Bates – is expecting a baby with partner Ryan Oates and is finding it tough because she’s suffering from a form of severe morning sickness known as hyperemesis gravidarum.
Though Chanelle – who has gained 7st in two years – wants to curb her food cravings during her pregnancy, she admits she’s worried the baby isn’t getting the nutrients it needs because she’s currently struggling to keep anything down.
She told Closer magazine: "I struggle to keep anything down at the moment, even water. I was saying to Ryan, ‘Yay I’ve lost weight’ while being sick at the same time.
"I lost 8lbs in one week alone.
"But joking aside, I’ve already been getting really bad anxiety about the baby not getting the right nutrients with the sickness so I’m determined to have a really healthy pregnancy once I’m feeling better.
"I’ll eat in moderation and I plan to get back to the gym as soon as I feel up to it.
"When you’re big, you’re only meant to gain between five and 20lbs during pregnancy – you’re meant to be all bump.
"My midwife told me I was a high category BMI and I shouldn’t be indulging."
The reality TV star’s obesity means she has problems with her knees and back and is concerned about how her pregnancy will impact on her movement.
She said: "I don’t know if my knees will take this pregnancy, let alone my back.
"Ryan will have to wheel me around by the end."
Chanelle and Ryan are looking forward to finding out the gender of their baby and plan to throw a party to share the news with their loved ones.
She said: "I bought a kit online where you can find out the sex from nine weeks but you have to prick the tip of your finger and as soon as I did, I threw up everywhere. So I’ll have to wait for my 16 week scan. We’re going to have a ‘gender reveal’ party rather than a baby shower, which will be fun."
