Emily, 18, began singing the chart hit and then Ryan, 20, walked out to join his girlfriend on stage to huge cheers from the crowd.
At one point as the young lovers sang to each other, Ryan sweetly touched Emily on her arm for support as the pair stared lovingly into one another’s eyes and they finished the track with a kiss.
Following the show – the second of the day for the ‘X Factor’ artists – Emily took to her Twitter account to share a selfie with her fans and simply post: "What a night at The O2."
While another tweet read: "O2 THAT WAS INCREDIBLE (sic)"
The spectacular concert featured other collaborations on the night with Emily joining Saara Aalto and Sam Lavery on a version of ‘No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)’ – the 1979 disco song recorded by Barbra Streisand and Donna Summer – and 5 After Midnight and Four of Diamonds teaming up for a version of Spice Girls’ classic ‘Say You’ll Be There’.
The boy band – Kieran Alleyne, Jordan Lee and Nathan Lewis – were responsible for opening the show and were cheered on by their friends and family in the audience as they performed ‘Uptown Funk,’ ‘Get Ready’ and ‘Reach Out and I’ll Be There’.
Nathan took to his Twitter account after the show to admit he had achieved one of his dreams by performing at the world famous venue which has hosted concerts by pop legends such as Justin Timberlake, Beyoncé, Drake and the late Prince.
He tweeted: "From seeing my biggest inspirations on this stage to performing at the O2 myself? … One of my life goals achieved!! #5AMXFTour #XFactorTour (sic)"
Last year’s winner Matt Terry – whose parents were watching proudly on in the audience – showed why he had won over the British public with incredible performances of his best songs from the last series; ‘I Put A Spell On You,’ ‘Writing’s on the Wall’ and ‘Purple Rain’.
He also brought a little bit of festive cheer to The O2 when he sang his winner’s single ‘When Christmas Comes Around’.
Runner-up Saara wowed fans by singing Bjork’s ‘It’s Oh So Quiet’ suspended from the ceiling of the arena and a mash-up of ‘Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend’ with ‘Diamonds Are Forever’ and Sam delivered a spine-tingling rendition of the late Michael Jackson’s ‘Earth Song’.
And Honey G didn’t disappoint the hundreds of youngsters dressed up as her in her trademark baseball cap, sunglasses and glittery bomber jacket.
The rapper rhymed fan favourites ‘Men In Black’, ‘Jump’, ‘Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It’, ‘Under Pressure (Ice, Ice Baby)’ and her debut single ‘The Honey G Show’ and throughout she led fans to join her and rap out her name.

The show ended on a group number of former ‘X Factor’ winner Fleur East’s ‘Sax’ with nearly every fan out of their seats dancing and cheering.
