Sir Bradley Wiggins suffering torn calf muscle on The Jump

Sir Bradley Wiggins is suffering from a torn calf muscle after his first race on ‘The Jump’.
The 36-year-old retired professional cyclist competed in a slalom race against comedian Mark Dolan during Sunday’s (05.02.17) first live show of the Channel 4 winter sports competition and was spotted hobbling around before seeing a doctor who diagnosed him with the muscle injury, according to The Sun newspaper.
An insider told the publication: "Bradley was gutted to have sustained an injury and is doing all he can to stay in the process.
"He was taken to see a doctor and given painkillers."
Show bosses aren’t too concerned about losing the five-time Olympic champion from the competition, as they believe he’s "hard as nails" and will recover from his injury.
The insider added: "But Bradley’s as hard as nails so bosses think he will be fine to carry on – as long as he doses himself up regularly."
The news comes after Bradley suffered a minor ankle injury just days before the show began.
If Bradley did drop out of the competition – which is notorious for injuring celebrities through dangerous sporting incidents – he would become the second celebrity to be forced out of the running this year after 31-year-old model Vogue Williams severely injured her knee during training.
A source said of Vogue’s injuries at the time: "Vogue is absolutely devastated. She was so looking forward to taking part and has been training religiously.
"She’s one of the most competitive of the group and was in with a real chance of winning.
"But she fell very heavily during the ski cross training and really hurt her knee and on doctor’s orders she has had to pull out."
‘The Jump’ returns on Sunday (12.02.17) at 7:30pm on Channel 4.
