Miranda Lambert hit the bottle after her divorce from Blake Shelton two years ago.
The 33-year-old country star was left devastated in the summer of 2015 when she and her then-spouse split after just four years of marriage but she has admitted, on reflection, it worked out well because she started boozing a little more and her nights out inspired her heartbreak song ‘Ugly Lights’.
Speaking to the crowd at an intimate show at Joe’s Bar in Chicago last week, according to Fox News, she said: "I got divorced so I started drinking a little extra. I found myself in Midtown in Nashville three nights in a row at like last call and with the lights coming on, and I’d be sitting there. So I wrote a song about it."
The blonde beauty’s insight into her failed marriage comes just months after she told her loyal fans that she would not be divulging any details about her ex-husband.
She said at the time: "I feel really strongly about the only talking I needed to do, I’ve done and it’s on tape.
"All the parts of me, the parts of the pain I went through, everything that happens to a person in their life — especially in the last couple years for me — is on this record."
Although her doomed relationship with Blake inspired her LP ‘The Weight of These Wings’, Miranda hasn’t wasted any time as she’s now dating Anderson East.
Blake, on the other hand, jumped straight into a relationship with Gwen Stefani and the pair – who both work on ‘The Voice USA’ have been smitten with each other ever since.
The 40-year-old country crooner has even sparked rumours he’s about to pop the question to Gwen after he was spotted shopping for rings over the festive season.
A source said at the time: "Blake is just as generous when is comes to Gwen. He really loves to spoil her. He won’t say if he’s going to propose or not, but he’s definitely been shopping for diamond jewellery."
