Brittany Daniel reveals cancer battle

Brittany Daniel has secretly battled cancer.

The ‘Game’ actress was diagnosed with stage IV non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in the summer of 2011 after suffering from excruciating back pain, night sweats and flu-like symptoms.

She said: "It happened so suddenly. I don’t think any of us were expecting what we heard."

The 38-year-old actress – who lost her hair as she underwent six months of chemotherapy treatment – and her mother moved into a guest house in the grounds of her twin sister Cynthia’s home and she says she couldn’t have beaten the disease without the support of her family.

She told People magazine: "There is is no way I would have ever gotten through this without my family.

"My family is everything to me and I feel like they saw me through this.

"We watched a lot of ‘Seinfeld’. Laughter was healing."

And Brittany credits her sister – who she previously starred with in teen TV series ‘Sweet Valley High’ – for giving her the strength to fight the deadly disease.

She said: "I really wasn’t afraid of dying. But I fought so hard to live because I could not leave her behind."

The blonde beauty has been given the all-clear from cancer, and though she initially only told a small group of friends and family, she is now speaking out in order to give hope to other sufferers.

She said: "I want to let people know it is absolutely possible to get through something like this. I want people to know they are not alone."
