Kellie Bright gave birth to her second child three months ago.
The ‘EastEnders’ star and her husband Paul Stocker welcomed their little son Gene into the world on November 21 following a swift seven-hour labour.
Kellie said: "It’s such a cliche but it really is a love like nothing else. In that moment you feel like everything you need is right there in that room … I couldn’t believe in only seven hours he’d arrived and my whole world and changed again."
The 40-year-old actress was initially worried about how her five-year-old son Freddy would take to his new little brother but she has admitted she was pleasantly surprised.
She explained: "He was immediately very sweet with him – tickling his feet, singing him lullabies and calling him ‘Baby Gene’ or ‘My baby brother’."
But Gene’s first few months in the world haven’t gone completely according to plan as he was forced to spend three days in hospital last month after he was struck down with bronchiolitis – a common lower respiratory tract infection that affects babies and young children under two years old – and spent hours relying on a oxygen machine.
Kellie said: "He had a nasty cough but the doctor assured me he’d be fine. Then suddenly he went down hill so we rushed him to hospital. He had to spend a few nights in hospital on oxygen but he’s home now and on the road to recovery."
And, although she’s only just given birth, Kellie is already thinking about another baby.
Speaking to OK! magazine, she said: "I said right away in the delivery room that I want another baby. I don’t feel ready to shut the door on motherhood just yet."
