Riley Carter Millington is set to take part in ‘Celebrity Fat Fighters’.
The ‘EastEnders’ star – who is set to bow out of the long-running soap as Kyle Slater over the next week – has agreed to compete in a new three-part series on TLC alongside six other famous faces as they attempt to turn their flab into chiselled abs.
The 22-year-old actor will rub shoulders with ‘The X Factor’ alumnus Stevi Ritchie, ‘Big Brother’s Lateysha Grace, ‘Gogglebox’s Sandi Bogle, ‘The Only Way is Essex’s James ‘Diags’ Bennewith, Jennifer Ellison and comedian Danny Miles as they’re put through their paces in a bid to kick their bad habits – including smoking – once and for all.
Clare Laycock, the head of TLC, said in a statement: "Our seven brave celebrities are in for a very unique brand of shock therapy as they bid to take back control of their body and mind. Expect sweat, tears, hunger pangs and unlikely friendships but no treats at this retreat for the rich and famous."
Riley’s new TV gig comes just weeks after he announced he was leaving the BBC One soap after just a year on screen because producers thought his alter ego Kyle had reached a "natural end" and could go no further in Albert Square.
Riley – who was the first transgender male to play a transgender character in a UK soap – said at the time: "When I landed a six-month contract at ‘EastEnders’ it was a dream come true. For that to be extended to a year was something I never expected.
"However, as the time comes for Kyle to depart Walford I am looking forward to taking on new roles and who knows, Kyle may find his way back to Walford one day."
