Ryan Reynolds had "a little bit of a nervous breakdown" after filming ‘Deadpool’.
The 40-year-old actor – who starred in the titular role in the superhero movie – felt it was important to go to the doctor after filming wrapped and was diagnosed with anxiety.
He told the new issue of GQ magazine: "I felt like I was on some schooner in the middle of a white squall the whole time. It just never stopped. When it finally ended, I had a little bit of a nervous breakdown. I literally had the shakes. I went to go see a doctor because I felt like I was suffering from a neurological problem or something. And every doctor I saw said, ‘You have anxiety.’
"I say this with the caveat that I completely recognise the ridiculously fortunate position that I am in. But the attention is hard on your nervous system – that might be why I live out in the woods. And I was banging the loudest drum for ‘Deadpool’. I wasn’t just trying to open it; I was trying to make a cultural phenomenon."
Meanwhile, Ryan previously admitted his ‘Deadpool’ makeup made his 23-month-old daughter James – who he has with his wife Blake Lively – cry.
He said: "[Blake] was blown away by how much the suit was such a faithful adaption from comic book to screen … probably the most faithful adaptation that’s ever been done.
"And my daughter would cry when she saw me in the scar makeup. It was hard. She would hear my voice, but she’d see this guy that looks like a fried testicle. That’s tough for a kid."
