Jamie Dornan says ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ hasn’t "had any influence" on his sex life.
The 34-year-old actor may play an S&M-loving businessman in the popular erotic franchise but it is not something he or his wife Amelia Warner share an interest in.
Asked if he has the same sexual fantasies as his character, he said: "No. I’m not into that. My wife isn’t either. It’s funny.
"Obviously there’s a huge market for it, a lot of people are into a certain type of sex but I am just not one of those people. It doesn’t interest me at all. So, I don’t think those roles have had any influence over our sex life."
The role requires Jamie to strip off and he has no qualms about getting his kit off as he comes from a "liberal background".
He added: "I don’t really care about the whole nudist aspect of what is required of me as an actor. I hope there’s some degree of modesty remaining but I am not a prude in any way.
"I wasn’t brought up that way. I’m not saying my parents were walking around the house naked, far from it, but I come from a liberal background where I don’t think my family have ever been shocked by sex or nudity or any of that sort of stuff."
And whilst Jamie – who has two-year-old Dulcie and eight-month-old Phoebe with Amelia – always has a good physique, he doesn’t like taking the time to work out as he would rather be spending those moments with his kids.
He told news.com.au: "I’m not very good at working on my physique but I had to run a lot for ‘The Fall’ and for ’50 Shades’, of course you have to work out a lot.
"I don’t enjoy it massively, more so because it takes up a lot of time. I’ve got young kids and I don’t want to be away from them in a gym just pushing heavy stuff around, that’s not fun. I’d would rather be fit doing sport … I go through phases. I never watch what I eat, I am terrible about that."
