Pico Alexander has been added to the cast of ‘Home Again’, which stars Reese Witherspoon.
The 25-year-old actor has signed up for Hallie Meyers-Shyer’s directorial debut, according to Deadline.com.
Alexander will join Witherspoon in the indie comedy, as well as the previously announced cast of Nat Wolff, Michael Sheen, Candice Bergen, Lake Bell, Reid Scott, and Jon Rudnitsky.
‘Home Again’ follows the story of a recently separated mother of two who starts a new life in Los Angeles, only to have it overturned when she decides to take in three charismatic young boys who become part of her unconventional family.
Witherspoon will star in the role of the mother, whilst Alexander rounds out the trio of boys alongside Wolff and Rudnitsky.
Nancy Meyers – the mother of the project’s writer and director – is producing the movie alongside Erika Olde of Black Bicycle Entertainment, who is also providing the financing for the project.
Open Road are in charge of releasing the production, and will do so domestically next year.
Shooting is due to begin in Los Angeles in November with a late 2017 release date penciled in.
Meanwhile, Witherspoon has been busy voicing a character for musical comedy ‘Sing’ – which comes out in January – and has also been working on HBO mini-series ‘Big Little Lies’.
The Hollywood star has also been working as a producer on ‘Barbie and Ruth’ which is about the life of Ruth Handler, the creator of Barbie.
For Pico Alexander, ‘Home Again’ comes after the young actor enjoyed credits on James Schamus’ ‘Indignation’, as well as J.C. Chandor’s ‘A Most Violent Year’. Alexander will next be seen in David Michôd’s ‘War Machine’, which stars Brad Pitt and will debut on streaming service Netflix next year.
