Ricky Norwood has hinted he may return to ‘EastEnders’.
The 27-year-old actor’s alter ego Arthur ‘Fat Boy’ Chubb was presumably killed off at Christmas last year after his body was supposedly found in a boot of a car, which was later crushed at a scrap yard, but he has teased he may not be gone forever.
He said: "I don’t know, to my knowledge, I got told that he died in the boot. I wasn’t physically in the boot. I didn’t ever shoot any scenes in the boot, it was all the stunt team. I mean there’s always a possibility. The fans tell me that there’s a possibility.
"Do you know how many plot twists there’ve been in nearly every storyline that has happened since I have left that people are like, ‘Yes, you’re coming back!’?"
And, although he’s yet to hear from producers, Ricky is adamant he’d return to the soap in a heartbeat if he was asked.
He explained to The Express Online: "I haven’t had any phone calls. I haven’t had a meeting … I’m never ever going to deny a phone call. I’ve got love, so much love for ‘EastEnders’, the production team, all the cast. We did some great work while I was there and they’re doing some great work now."
Characters returning from the ‘dead’ is nothing new in ‘EastEnders’ as bosses recently brought back Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) permanently after it was initially thought she was tragically killed off in a brutal road accident in 2006.
They also brought back the loveable Pat Butcher (Pam St. Clement) as a ghost earlier this year when Peggy Mitchell (Dame Barbara Windsor) died from breast cancer.
