Kit Harington in talks for BBC’s Guy Fawkes drama

Kit Harington is in talks to star in a BBC drama based on the gunpowder plot.
The 29-year-old actor is planning on both starring in and producing the drama – under the working title ‘Gunpowder’ – that will be inspired by Guy Fawkes’ infamous plan.
In 1605, Fawkes attempted to assassinate the British Monarch King James I by blowing up the Houses of Parliament, and Harrington has spoken previously about how one of his relatives – a man named Robert Catesby – was involved in the attempted act of treason.
BBC sources have now confirmed the ‘Game of Thrones’ star is in "advanced talks" to head the three hour-long episodes that will make up the project.
As of yet, it is unconfirmed which character he will be playing, and no other casting announcements have been made.
The news of Kit’s move to producing comes after he recently revealed he was interested in taking up a role behind the camera once he finishes his role on ‘Game of Thrones’, and the decision to stay on TV rather than move to film comes after he said television was more "exciting".
He said: "I’d love to go back into a top-quality TV show, because that is where storytelling is at its most exciting and dangerous at the moment."
A source confirmed to Business Insider that the show was close to being commissioned by the BBC, though the publication stated a BBC Spokesperson had declined to comment.
The project will be produced by Kit’s company Thriker Films alongside Kudos, who produced ‘Spooks: The Greater Good’, which starred Kit.
