Liam Gallagher asks after his brother Noel five times a day.
The 43-year-old rocker has barely spoken to his older sibling since they had a row which broke up their band Oasis in 2009, but both he and the ‘If I Had A Gun’ hitmaker frequently check in with their beloved mother Peggy to ensure the other is doing well.
Filmmaker Mat Whitecross, who has directed new Oasis documentary ‘Supersonic’, said: "Peggy says they both ring her every day and the first thing they do is ask after each other.
"She said Liam in particular rings her five times a day and he’s always asking after Noel and she tells him ‘Well, pick up the phone then.’ "
Despite the tension between Liam and Noel, and the fact they never filmed any of ‘Supersonic’ together, Mat still believes there’s a chance Oasis could reform in the future.
He told The Sun newspaper: "Liam is very keen – his thing is that ‘We were at our peak when we fell apart, let’s get back together, we are wasting time’.
"Whereas Noel says he would have to be offered an obscene amount of money to re-form – but he hasn’t ruled it out completely."
Mat’s comments come shortly after Liam admitted he misses "hanging out" with 49-year-old Noel and thinks Peggy would be happy if they could put their differences aside.
Asked if they’ll ever make up, he said :"Who knows? It certainly wouldn’t be for money. I guess it would be nice to put it all to bed for my mam’s sake.
"I miss hanging out with my brother. I f***ing love him but at the same time he’s treated me like a bit of a ****."
The former Beady Eye frontman knows the barbs he and Noel have exchanged in public are incredibly "childish" but they just can’t help themselves.
He added: "We’re having a stand off, but it’s a funny one, we’re not putting in each other’s windows or messing with each other’s tyres, trying to kill each other.
"He’s like, ‘He can’t sing’. ‘F***ing do one potato.’
"It’s stupid and it’s childish and we should know better, but we don’t."
