Robbie Williams begged Ed Sheeran for song on new LP

Robbie Williams begged Ed Sheeran to send him a song for his comeback album.
The ‘Rock DJ’ hitmaker has revealed he emailed the 25-year-old singer/songwriter in a moment of panic to ask him if he had any songs laying around that would make his forthcoming LP ‘Heavy Entertainment Show’ a hit.
Robbie, 42, said: "[I thought,] days are running out for the album, ‘Have I got enough hits? Are there enough hits? I’ve got Ed Sheeran’s email. I’ll send him an email and see what happens. One last hope."
The ‘Thinking Out Loud’ hitmaker soon responded to the hunky pop star and sent him a song he’d written which was inspired by the film ‘Pretty Woman’.
Robbie told The Sun newspaper: "[I wrote,] ‘Dear Ed, Robbie Williams here. Do you have any spare hits?’ And he sent me this song about ‘Pretty Woman’. I added a chorus and I think the song is fully formed."
The ‘Kids’ singer is thrilled that Ed agreed to give him the song as he thinks the flame-haired star is a "phenomena and "incredibly talented".
He added: "I’m honoured that he said yes and I’m honoured that I get to be in Ed’s thoughts. You can’t not be a fan of Ed.
"He’s a phenomena. And also the nicest guy. He’s incredibly talented."
Robbie’s 11th studio album – his first in four years – also features songs co-written by The Killers’ Brandon Flowers, as well as his long-term collaborator Guy Chambers.
Robbie has been working on the album since the release of 2013’s ‘Swing Both Ways’ and admitted the tracklisting has seen a number of changes.
He said: "I’ve been working on this album like I work on all the other albums, it’s been a process of three years, some of these songs that have been on the album I’ve had three years ago, and I’ve had on my computer and I’ve been very excited about them and the new ones have taken their place and then the old ones have gone, and then the old ones come back up, the new ones, it’s just a process that’s been years in the making."
‘Heavy Entertainment Show’ will be released on November 4.
