Simon Pegg welcomed collaboration

Simon Pegg made ‘Star Trek Beyond’ more "collaborative" for the cast.
The British actor portrays Scotty in the sci-fi series and his appointment as one of the writers in the latest installment of the saga was good for his co-stars as he understood their roles very well and encouraged them to contribute their own ideas.
Chris Pine, who plays Captain Kirk, said: "If anything [Simon] heightened that sense of collaboration.
"He was on both sides, he could see it from different points of view at different stages of the shoot.
"He knows the characters so well and he’s known us for years so certain things would be tailored for each of us.
"Simon knows our strengths and our weaknesses.
"And with him, you felt completely open and welcome to throw in your own suggestions.
"You’re part of the whole soup, you’re throwing in ideas and mixing dynamics and it felt all very level."
Chris found working on ‘Star Trek Beyond’ the easiest so far because there was much less pressure, and he now feels he knows his character well.
He explained to heat magazine: "There wasn’t one iota of pressure on the third one, which probably made it the most fun to work on.
"It gets easier with each movie, but I’ve never really felt a tonne on my shoulders.
"Well, maybe for the second one because it was coming off the first movie and the stakes were higher.
"So with this one, we’d proven ourselves and didn’t have anything to prove anymore.
"I feel like I know Kirk confidentially. Whereas before, he was this iconic legend you’re facing for the first time and you think, ‘Holy s**t, what did I get myself into?’ "
