Joey Essex ‘too busy’ to date girls

Joey Essex is "too busy" with his new show to think about dating girls.

The ‘Educating Joey Essex’ star claims he doesn’t have time in his busy schedule to talk to girls and despite his admission that he is "back in contact" with his ex-girlfriend and former ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ co-star, Sam Faiers, he insists he’s still single.

He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I mean, I’m single but I have just been concentrating on the show, really. I’m too busy [for girls] at the moment. Every single day I’m getting up at early hours of the morning doing different things."

Despite his busy schedule, Joey has been working on rekindling his romance with Sam, following their split last June, and admits they became close again after she was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease earlier this month.

He explained: "We’ve got back in contact with each other, but we’re just friends at the moment. So we are talking. I will always be there for her, no matter what happens. It’s not nice to hear that someone’s ill, is it? She’s got a special place in my heart."

Meanwhile, the reality TV hunk praised Sam’s sister, Billie Faiers, on her pregnancy and thinks the Minnie’s Boutique co-owner and her fiancé, Greg Shepherd, will make great parents.

Joey gushed: "I’ve congratulated her, yeah … it’s amazing. She will make an amazing mother, she’s really nice, so congratulations to her."

‘Educating Joey Essex’ begins on ITV2 tonight (16.03.14) at 9pm.
