IKEA respond to Kanye West collaboration offer

IKEA Australia has responded to Kanye West’s offer to design furniture with them.
The 39-year-old rapper recently expressed his desire to collaborate with the Swedish retailer on a range and now the company has taken to social media and joked that they could make him "famous" if they teamed up.
The Facebook page for IKEA Australia shared a picture of a potential Kanye/IKEA design and captioned it: "Hej Kanye, we’d love to see what you’d create… we could make you Famous! (sic)"
On Monday (01.08.16), the ‘Fade’ hitmaker admitted he "has" to work with the global brand and has always dreamed of designing his own collection for the company because he wants to launch "more products" to his fashion line.
Speaking to Annie Mac on BBC Radio One, the ‘Famous’ star said: "I have to work with IKEA – make furniture for interior design, for architecture and I know that if I do a minimalist apartment inside of a college dorm where the TV goes on the side of the wall. Yo IKEA, allow Kanye to create, allow him to make this thing because you know what, I want a bed that he makes, I want a chair that he makes – I want more products from Ye."
Kanye visited IKEA’s headquarters in Sweden earlier this year, and his mind has been "racing with possibilities" ever since.
Back in March, he wrote: "Up late designing in Sweden … Super inspired by my visit to Ikea today , really amazing company … my mind is racing with the possibilities… (sic)"
IKEA spokesman Jakob Holmstrom has confirmed Kanye visited several facilities but would not confirm whether discussions had taken place about him designing for the company, only saying "time will tell".
If a collaboration does happen Kanye – who has three-year-old daughter North and seven-month-old son Saint with his wife Kim Kardashian West – would be the first celebrity to work with IKEA, which currently has 328 stores in 28 countries.
