Sarah Harding to star in Ghost musical

Sarah Harding is to make her stage debut in ‘Ghost: The Musical’.
The former Girls Aloud singer admits it is a "huge honour" to follow in the footsteps of Demi Moore – who portrayed Molly in the 1990 original movie – by taking on her iconic role in the upcoming touring production.
She said: The film is one of my all-time favourites, so to get the opportunity to play Molly is a huge honour for me and I can’t wait to get started."
Sarah, 34, will be joined in the production by former ‘Hollyoaks’ actor Andy Moss, who will play Molly’s murdered lover Sam, a role made famous by Patrick Swayze.
The 32-year-old hunk can’t wait for the show, which opens at London’s New Wimbledon Theatre on 29 August before going on a UK tour, to start.
Responding to a tweet from the production’s official account welcoming him and Sarah to the "’Ghost’ family", he wrote: "Thankyou can’t wait to get started (sic)"
He also tweeted: "So the [ghost emoji] is out of the bag… Super excited to be playing Sam on the UK tour of @BKL_Productions Ghost !!(sic)"
Last year, Sarah appeared in four episodes of UK TV soap ‘Coronation Street’ and admitted when she was cast that she was excited to move away from music and try something different.
She said: "It is pretty equal at the moment between acting and singing, they are side by side.
"I love my music but I love to think I have other options and paths available to me.
"I did train in acting when I was younger which a lot of people don’t know and for me it is nice to have another option, it mixes things up a little bit and keeps it interesting.
"These days it is good to be a bit of an all-rounder."
However, her appearance was widely criticised by fans of the show, but she felt a lot of the negative comments were unfair.
She said: "I got so much more criticism because of who I am. You can’t please everyone and ‘Coronation Street’ is the nation’s best-loved soap.
"I didn’t have a Northern accent because they didn’t want one and I think half the problem was it looked like I was playing myself.
"Maybe I didn’t have enough time to learn but I think I did the character justice."
