Ashley James thinks her heartbreaking split from Matt Richardson led to her developing body dysmorphia.
The former ‘Made in Chelsea’ star was left distraught two years ago when her relationship with the 25-year-old presenter hit the rocks and she blames that difficult time for her ongoing battle with the anxiety disorder and adult acne.
Speaking to the MailOnline, she said: "It was a break-up that knocked my confidence. I put everything into a relationship, moved in with someone for the first time and that didn’t work.
"I’m a perfectionist and when that didn’t work it had a big effect on me and because it was in the public eye it was a difficult change for me. With Matt Richardson. We’re friends now so it’s fine. It was my first difficult break-up where it was in the public eye and it was a difficult time in my life. The stress it caused with my acne and body confidence."
Meanwhile, despite her emotional split from Matt, the 29-year-old beauty hasn’t let her past rule her future and recently jumped into another relationship, although it didn’t work out.
She explained: "I’m recently single and it is difficult like I think I’m a very alpha female, I’m driven, I work a lot, I prioritise my friend a lot also it’s hard to know nice guys."
