Kristen Stewart thought Woody Allen hated her

Kristen Stewart was convinced Woody Allen hated her.
The 26-year-old actress worked with the eccentric filmmaker on ‘Cafe Society’ and initially thought he "regretted" casting her, so was determined to prove herself on set.
She recalled: "I thought, ‘He hates me! He absolutely is regretting his decision.’
"But, then, I was like, "I’m going to prove to this little dude that I can absolutely do this!"
And Woody, 80, also criticised Kristen for her looks and said she wasn’t pretty enough.
She added to Yahoo!: "That first day, he would come up to me and say things like, ‘You look terrible. You’re supposed to be pretty.’ "
But the ‘Twilight Saga’ star insisted she wasn’t offended as she thinks it was a test used by the director to see if she was "cool".
She explained: "It’s not personal, and he’s not trying to offend.
"He’s not the type of person who likes actors who are totally up their own asses and have massive egos.
"I feel like it was almost a tool for him to go, ‘If they can take it, they’re cool. And if they can’t, then f**k it."
Kristen previously admitted she found auditioning for the movie – which also stars Blake Lively, Jesse Eisenberg, and Steve Carrell – "a stretch".
Speaking before details of the film were made public, she said: "It’s weird, you’re not supposed to talk about Woody Allen movies before they’re out, but I think I’m probably allowed to generally say it’s a stretch for me. And so I just wasn’t sure. So, I just cold read, and I was like, ‘I have no concept of [the character]."
But the actress loved having to "prove" herself because as a well-established star, she is usually thrown into films.
She said: "It made me – I hadn’t been that exceptionally nervous in a long time – in that context,
"But it feels good to prove yourself because it’s weird when people just hand you roles, and you’re like, ‘You’ve never even met me. You might hate me. You’re gonna spend three months making this thing.’"
