Carol Vorderman has sworn off dating.
The former ‘Countdown’ mathematician – who has been twice divorced – recently split from her toy boy lover Graham ‘Duffy’ Duff after four years together and is now adamant she doesn’t want another relationship because she likes being free.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, she said: "I’m happily single, freely independent and doing my own thing.
"The best thing about being single is being able to do what you want. If I want to lie in, I will. Or I’ll go see a friend, without having to check in with anyone. I can’t bear checking in. Asking, ‘Oh, is it all right, darling? Do you mind if I go?’ I can’t do that any more – there’s no way I’m going to start again."
The brunette beauty hit the headlines in 2012 when she and Duffy started romancing because of their 14-year age gap.
And, although at the time she brushed off the criticism, she has admitted, on reflection, it was "silly" to date someone that young.
She explained: "I’m not opposed to going out with someone 10 years younger, it’s acceptable. But Duffy was 14 years younger – that was a bit silly really."
Meanwhile, Carol – who has two children Katie, 24, and Cameron, 19, with her second husband Patrick King – is now planning to fly an aeroplane around the world later this month after Duffy taught her how to pilot during their romance.
