Celine Dion thankful husband’s suffering is over

Celine Dion is thankful her husband isn’t suffering any more.
The ‘My Heart Will Go On’ hitmaker was left devastated in January when René Angelil – the father of her sons René-Charles, 15, and five-year-old twins Eddy and Nelson – died after a long battle from throat cancer, but she thinks he is in a "good" place now and watching over her.
She said: "He’s good. He doesn’t suffer anymore. I think he’s enjoying looking down.
"Passing away is part of life. Many things help you to go through this, but especially my kids."
Elsewhere during her backstage interview with ‘Entertainment Tonight’, the 48-year-old star revealed she doesn’t use a make-up artist as she is particular about her look, and won’t wear false eyelashes in case of a mishap that would see them come loose and end up on her forehead or lip.
She quipped: "Suddenly she’s got a mustache? Not good."
Celine recently thanked her fans for helping "push" her through her grief.
She said: "I think I do have a relationship with my fans that are [pushing] me [along]. They’ve been such supporters of my good days and my bad days.
"They are so considerate for my happiness and my sadness, my good and bad moments, and they are [always] supporting me.
"The fans are supporting not only my music, but who I am. I’ve been criticised for being an open book for so long, but it’s paying off today because they know me well."
And Celine found knowing how passionate her husband – who was also her manager – was about her career helped her face up to returning to the stage.
She said: "I have to say that, coming here after the passing of my husband after not even six months, it could have been way easy for me to say, ‘You know what, I’m not in the mood of dressing up and having the purse and seeing the fans and having a good time and singing, giving a part of your soul.’
"But knowing that he loved the industry so much – he made me who I am today since [I was] 12 years old – I went back on stage before he passed, he wanted me to really be the artist I always wanted to be, and I knew that for a long time."
