Helen Lederer is set for ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ this summer.
The 61-year-old comedienne has admitted she’s been approached by Channel 5 bosses on numerous occasions to join the infamous house but is seriously considering their mega money offer for the next series of the reality TV show.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, she said: "They did ask me once before but I was doing ‘Calendar Girls’ [in 2009] and I was quite pleased they wouldn’t let me out [to do it]."
However, the ‘Absolutely Fabulous’ star isn’t sure she’d be able to survive three weeks trapped within four walls but believes the celebrity version of the show, which takes place in January and August, is easier than the civilian series.
She explained: How do people wash with their swimming costumes? It’s disgusting.
"But I think in the Celebrity version at least you can close the door when you need a private moment."
And, although Helen is still weighing up her options at the moment, she’s concerned her 25-year-old daughter Hannah, whom she has with her husband Roger Alton, will disown her if she were to accept the offer for the celebrity series.
She said: "My daughter would disapprove and if I do go into the ‘CBB’ house I think I might have a nervous breakdown."
