Lizzy Caplan had ‘no desire’ to act.

Lizzy Caplan had "no desire" to act.
The 34-year-old ‘Now You See Me 2’ star – who began her career in the film industry in 1999 – has admitted she had never planned to be a movie star until she turned 15, and is surprised by her success in the industry, which she believed was just a "fluke".
Speaking about her breaking the industry, Lizzy – who starred as the gothic teenager in the hit film ‘Mean Girls’ – said: "I actually had no desire for acting until I was 15, which was when I quit the piano and needed to find something else to do at school.
"Drama seemed to be the thing that I could probably pull off or fake my way through. I was drawn to it after that, but it was definitely a fluke."
However, the brunette beauty – who is currently dating actor Tom Riley – has admitted she doubts she would have pursued a career in film if she had of known she’d need to be patient with landing her next role.
She told Stylist: "I think if somebody had told me that it would be such a struggle for so many years, I don’t know if I would have stuck with it. It’s about patience and perseverance, as boring as that sounds."
Meanwhile, Lizzy – who plays sexologist Virginia Johnson in the American television series ‘Masters of Sex’ – has revealed her role in the period drama was a "dream come true", because she was able to shed the constant association to one type of character.
She explained: "It was a dream come true to play Virginia. If people start to recognise your work, they have a tendency to see you in only one specific way and I was kind of resigned to that fact.
"I wanted the chance to explore other roles and miraculously, somebody gave that to me.
"So much has changed because of this show."
