Rylan Clark-Neal and his husband Dan are set to become the first gay couple to present ‘This Morning’.
The pair will take over the show next month on Friday July 8 when Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes go on holiday.
A source told the Daily Mirror: "Rylan is hugely popular with the ‘This Morning’ audience and working with Dan again will provide key chemistry a show like this requires with its hosts."
Rylan and Dan, who married in November, previously did a joint interview with Christopher Cramp, who spoke about having the first Civil Partnership in the UK with his terminally ill partner Matthew Roche just hours before Matthew died.
Speaking about working with Dan on that moving interview, Rylan said: "Obviously, me and Dan do a lot of work together away from TV on the development side, so we are used to doing stuff like that.
"But to do stuff on camera together was a little bit strange.
"But I really enjoyed doing it. It was really nice and it felt easy because it was something we both wanted to talk about."
Asked previously about when they will start a family together, Rylan said: "Married life is good. It’s very normal, which is exactly what I want. We’re very real about it and it’s very good.
"We’re happy to have our arguments, air our dirty laundry in the kitchen and be all right again. It [a family] will happen. I can’t wait to be a dad. I’d like to start a family in about a year."
